Almost all public meetings held by local governments and school districts continue to be held via livestreaming, either via Facebook, YouTube, or by being broadcast on other online applications like Zoom.

The change in Ohio’s Sunshine Laws that gave rise to the ability to conduct meetings in this matter was enacted in March by the Ohio General Assembly. Certain conditions must be met, however participation in these meetings via the internet is allowable.

The change is tied to the Governor’s Declaration of Emergency, which means that it will expire when that Declaration expires. The change is permissive and not mandatory, however it is unknown at this point what changes might take place in the coming weeks as Ohio “reopens” on a limited basis.

During this coming week, at least six virtual public meetings are being held in Richland County. Here is a list of dates and times with links to access information for each.
