This coming weekend’s Mohican Wildlife Weekend brings with it a unique double bill at the Warren Rupp Observatory. Visitors can engage in tours of the observatory and also view the sun through the Solar Scope.

Embark on a journey through the cosmos in search of potential habitats for the future survival of humanity. Embrace the idea that science is accessible to all. No need to fret if you think you lack the necessary knowledge to participate in our engaging program – all ages and experience levels are welcome. The folks at Warren Rupp strive to make astronomy both entertaining and appealing for every visitor.

Included are:

Observatory Tours (featuring telescopes of various sizes and purposes)

Solar Scope Viewing (observe solar flares and the corona)
Meteorite Cooking Experiment (discover the outcome)

What to Anticipate:

If this is your initial visit to an observatory, fear not. We pride ourselves on our family-friendly environment and the joy of sharing knowledge. Modern restroom facilities can be found on-site, and nearly all areas are handicap-accessible. Parking is available near the ClubHouse/Dome Area.

When:

Saturday, April 29 at 1 PM

Remember:

Astronomy takes place outdoors, so dress appropriately! Be prepared for an evening under the stars and prioritize your comfort. Feel free to bring along camping chairs, blankets, snacks, and drinks.

The Warren Rupp Observatory is located at 5127 Possum Run Road in Bellville.
