Bird enthusiasts and the curious are in for a treat as the Ohio Bird Sanctuary, located on the shores of Clearfork Reservoir, spreads its wings to host an educational and interactive event titled “Falcon Friday”. This special occasion promises to be a blend of education, conservation, and hands-on experiences with one of the avian world’s most fascinating members: the falcon.

Flight Demonstration and Conservation Talks On December 1, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the Ohio Bird Sanctuary will open its doors to nature lovers to witness the grace and agility of American Kestrels in a flight demonstration that’s sure to captivate attendees of all ages. Doors will open promptly at 5:15 PM, setting the stage for an evening where the sky is literally the limit.

Intimate Encounters with Birds of Prey The event is designed to be an intimate affair, limited to 50 individuals, ensuring that each guest can fully engage with the activities planned. For a fee of $15 for non-members and a reduced rate of $10 for members, participants will not only get to observe these majestic birds in action but also enjoy photo opportunities with select birds, a unique chance to get up close and personal with these powerful raptors.

Conservation Efforts and Takeaways In addition to the demonstration, the evening will shine a spotlight on the importance of falcon conservation, with attendees receiving a complimentary American Kestrel Conservation pin as a token of the sanctuary’s appreciation for their support. This keepsake serves as a reminder of the conservation efforts required to maintain the populations of these magnificent birds.
