The Mansfield Division of Police has shared details about a fatal crash this past Saturday:

On Saturday at approximately 9:36 AM, the Mansfield Division of Police responded to a crash in the area of 414 W. Cook Road involving a 2013 Kia Soul and a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pick-up truck.
A front seat passenger in the Kia, 44-year-old Judy A. Brown of Mansfield, was transported by EMS to Ohio Health where she was later pronounced deceased. The 41-year-old male driver of the Kia Soul, Scot E. Mohn of Mansfield, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Ohio Health for treatment. The operator of the Chevrolet pick-up truck, 52-year-old Homer D. Carpenter of Mansfield and his passenger 77-year-old Homer J. Carpenter, were not injured.

The crash occurred when the Kia Soul which was traveling in the right, westbound lane on W. Cook Road and the Chevrolet pick-up which was also traveling westbound in the left lane struck each other just east of 414 W. Cook Road. The impact caused the Kia to travel off the right side of the 4 lane roadway and strike a utility pole.

The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed. The Mansfield Police were assisted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the scene. No additional information is available at this time.

We are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the crash and were not interviewed, to please contact Mansfield Police at (419) 755-9724 and ask for Off. Carolyn Young or a shift supervisor.
