There’s a sure fire way to enjoy nature, people, and beauty at the same time – volunteering at Kingwood Center Gardens.

The miracle which is Kingwood is seeking volunteers to assist in a full range of 2018 activities. Each year, over 100 people donate their time and impact almost every project in the house and on the grounds – an amazing 10,000 hours of service annually.

Some work done by volunteers includes the following:

  • Garden assistant
  • Flower arranger
  • Host(ess)
  • Tour guide (for children and/or adults)
  • Wedding liaison
  • Office assistant
  • Special event volunteer

Those who lack a green thumb, or have limitations on time or mobility are welcome. Benefits of volunteering also include free parking, a 10% discount on workshops, tours, and garden shop purchases, a quarterly newsletter, an annual Spring luncheon, an annual summer covered dish picnic, and an end-of-year gift of “delectable goodies” and plant.

Interested? Then attend Kingwood Center Gardens’ Volunteer Open House on April 7 from 1 PM to 3 PM. Contact MacKenzie Cole at Kingwood at 419-522-0211, ext. 110.

Send us your news — of an announcement, event,
club news, fundraiser – whatever! It’s easy to do online.
