The Ohio Bird Sanctuary Education Center is opening its doors on Saturday, March 23 for a unique workshop designed to bring people closer to the vibrant bird life that calls Ohio home. This engaging session, running from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, offers an exclusive opportunity to build a Bluebird Box, meet resident and visiting feathered friends, and secure a family pass for future visits.

Crafting Homes for Bluebirds

The workshop is structured around a hands-on activity where each family will receive a Bluebird Box Kit, including all necessary supplies to construct a welcoming home for these colorful birds. This initiative not only fosters a sense of accomplishment as participants build something tangible but also plays a crucial role in the conservation of the Eastern Bluebird in Ohio.

An Encounter with Avian Ambassadors

Beyond crafting, attendees will have the rare chance to meet one of the sanctuary’s resident birds up-close, along with other animal inhabitants. This intimate interaction aims to deepen the connection between participants and the natural world, offering insights into the lives of these beautiful creatures and the importance of preserving their habitats.

An Invitation to Return

In addition to the day’s activities, each family will receive a pass for free admission to the Bird Sanctuary, encouraging further exploration and learning about bird conservation on their own time. Priced at $60 per family group (with a maximum of six people), the ticket includes the Bluebird Box Kit and promises a day of educational fun.

Conservation at Heart

The event shines a spotlight on the challenges faced by bluebirds in Ohio, highlighting the need for habitat conservation. The Eastern Bluebird, among other native species, has battled habitat loss and competition from invasive species. However, efforts by organizations like the Ohio Bluebird Society (OBS) and community initiatives such as this workshop contribute significantly to the recovery and preservation of these birds.

For those eager to secure their spot and contribute to a meaningful cause, pre-registration is required due to limited space. Ensure your family’s participation in this remarkable event by registering here.
