Richland Area Chamber and Economic Development is inviting business professionals to attend the 2023 Regional Economic Forum, which will be held at the New Indoor Pavilion at the Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield.

Notable speakers will include Robert Alt, President & CEO of The Buckeye Institute, and Jerry James, President of Artex Oil Company. The Eichinger-Brafford-McClead Group at Merrill Lynch has organized this exclusive event, scheduled for Friday, May 19th. It presents a valuable opportunity to learn from industry experts and network with fellow business leaders.

The Buckeye Institute is a Columbus-based nonprofit policy organization that tirelessly promotes pro-growth policies and works to eliminate regulatory barriers to prosperity. They are dedicated to helping individuals and businesses thrive. In addition to advocating for sound economic and legal policy, the Buckeye Institute brings high-profile cases to courts across the country to advance freedom. Recently, Robert Alt argued in the Ohio Supreme Court against the taxation of income for non-commuting workers. Outside of work, he enjoys climbing the tallest mountains on each of the seven continents, with his latest adventure in Antarctica.

Jerry James, President of Artex Oil Company, will speak on “The Economy Runs on Affordable Energy.” A native of Zanesville, Ohio, James currently resides in Marietta. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marietta College in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. James has held leadership roles in the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP). He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. James has been President of Artex Oil Company since 1995 and held various positions with major oil companies in Texas, Louisiana, and Wyoming before that. He is also a founder and active volunteer of Shale Crescent USA.
