One of the many benefits of life in Richland County is the generosity of its residents – both those currently living and those who have given in the past to make opportunities available for individuals, families, and organizations.

Case in point: last year, the Richland County Foundation awarded some $380,172 in scholarships to area students. The Foundation has just announced that its college and trade school scholarship application for the 2018-19 school year is now available online at richlandcountyfoundation.org.

New applicants and high school seniors must have at least a 2.5-grade point average (GPA), college students and returning applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA, attend an accredited school and be a resident or high school graduate of Richland County. Trade school programs should be at least 600 hours.

These are not recurring scholarships so students must re-apply each year. College and trade school scholarships are based on financial need.

In addition, the Mansfield Aviation Club (MAC), a not-for-profit 501c3, provides a scholarship to help people learn how to fly. Residents of Richland and contiguous counties are eligible to apply for the aviation scholarship.

The application for these scholarships is available here and the deadline is April 1. For more information visit the website or call 419- 525-3020.
