On Thursday, September 22, the Ohio Department of Transportation District 3 will host an open house and public meeting to discuss the proposed US 30 major rehabilitation project in Mansfield.
In news released from ODOT, it shared: “The project is intended to improve pavement conditions and improve safety on US 30 from SR 309 to Fifth Avenue, as well as provide safe access for residents and businesses to and from US 30. The project team is evaluating alternatives to accomplish these goals and would appreciate feedback from the public.
In addition to safety improvements on US 30, such as wider shoulders, alternatives under consideration include modifications to the interchanges at SR 39, SR 13 and SR 545. The public comments will assist ODOT in determining which alternatives to carry forward. The project will be funded by state and federal transportation funds administered by ODOT, with construction tentatively planned to start in 2019.
The meeting will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the United Steelworkers Union Hall in Mansfield. The meeting will include an open house from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During the open house, members of the public may visit at any time to talk one-on-one with members of the project team, view exhibits, ask questions and express any comments or concerns about the project. A formal presentation is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., which will include an opportunity for audience members to comment publicly, if they wish to do so.”
The United Steelworkers Union Hall is located at 376 W. Longview Avenue.
