Douglas Droste of Muncie, Indiana will conduct the final Masterworks concert of the season at 8:00 PM on Friday, May 13, featuring Mansfield Symphony Concertmaster Victor Beyens.

The program will be as follows:

  • Mason Bates: Mothership
  • Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto
  • Smetana: The Moldau
  • Respighi: Pines of Rome

The Mansfield Symphony is participating with Orchestras Feeding America and conducting a Food Drive as a part of this concert. Guests donating a non-perishable canned or boxed food item will receive a voucher for a free popcorn at this event. Additional information and a list of recommended food donations is available at this location online.

Friday will also feature Symphony Chat, featuring brilliant music historian and storyteller Mark Sebastian Jordan. Jordan will tell stories of the composers and the pieces on the Mansfield Symphony Masterworks concert: Take Me to Your Leader in the ballroom of the Renaissance Theatre at 7:00 PM prior to the concert. The chat is free and open to the public.
