The Ohio Lottery Partners in Education program is a beacon of recognition for the state’s K-12 teachers. This program honors educators who go above and beyond in their classrooms, showing exceptional leadership, creativity, and community involvement. This month, a Mansfield City Schools teacher has been named one of the Teachers of the Month, bringing pride to her school and community.

The recipient of the honor is Nancy Niedermier of Springmill STEM Elementary.

Being named a Teacher of the Month is no small feat. Winners receive a $500 gift card, a prize pack filled with educational resources, and a certificate of excellence to commemorate their achievement. This award serves not just as a token of appreciation but as a tangible benefit that can further enrich the educational experience for their students.

Starting this academic year, the Ohio Lottery Partners in Education program has expanded its scope. Nominations for Academic All-Star and Teacher of the Month will be accepted from September 1 to May 10. Each month, three Academic All-Stars and three Teachers of the Month will be recognized.

The nomination process is quite inclusive, allowing submissions from a variety of sources including principals, faculty, coaches, staff, students, and parents. To be considered for the Teacher of the Month Award, educators must excel in one or more of the following areas:

  • Excellence in the Classroom: Consistently advancing students to higher levels of academic achievement.
  • Motivation: Encouraging students to exceed both academic and social expectations.
  • Leadership: Serving as a guiding force in the classroom and throughout the school.
  • Community Service: Being active in community or other service organizations.
  • Creativity and Imagination: Showcasing innovation in lesson plans and teaching methods.
  • Dedication: Demonstrating excellent attendance, punctuality, and a genuine desire to see students succeed.
  • Communication: Providing articulate, clear, and effective instruction both in the classroom and beyond.

Nancy Niedermier’s recognition is a testament to the quality of education that Mansfield City Schools provides. It also shines a spotlight on the exceptional efforts of local teachers who are dedicated to nurturing the next generation.
