The City of Shelby has released its 2022 Consumer Confidence Water Report, providing residents with a comprehensive overview of the city’s water quality. The report, which confirms that the city’s drinking water met all Ohio EPA standards for 2022, is now available for public review at various locations and online.

The Shelby Water Treatment Plant, which treats an average of 1.25 million gallons of water per day, is committed to providing residents with the safest, most reliable water supply. The report details the sources of the city’s water, potential contaminants, health information, and measures taken to ensure the water’s safety.

The report is accessible to anyone interested in learning more about the city’s water quality. Announcements with a link to the report are available at the Library, City Hall, and the Utilities Office. For those who prefer a physical copy, printed versions can be requested and picked up at the Utilities Office starting Friday, March 24th, 2023. To request a copy, residents can call (419) 342-4085 Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

For digital access, the report can be found on the city’s website at https://shelbycity.oh.gov. Once the page loads, go to the Departments Tab and choose Utilities. The 2022 Consumer Confidence Water Report will be located on the Water Treatment page with a link for viewing and/or printing the report.

The city encourages public participation and comments about the drinking water at the regular Shelby City Council meetings. If residents have any questions concerning the 2022 Consumer Confidence Water Report, they can call the Water Department between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday through Friday at (419) 342-2171.
