One of the many advantages to living in Richland County and north central Ohio is the quality of painting, music, and other artistic offerings available in the nearby metropolitan areas of Cleveland and Columbus. These compliment and expand the wonderful artistic creations which can be seen right here at home.

Speaking of area artistic offers, the Passages exhibition at the Mansfield Art Center continues through February 26. More information can be found here.

Both nearby cities have major art exhibitions on offer this year.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is currently hosting exhibitions on Chinese miniatures, Korean art, African arts, and Buddhist and Jain manuscripts, as well as works by artists such as Eadweard Muybridge, Alfred Stieglitz, Andy Warhol, and Sigmar Polke.

At Columbus Museum of Art, the Wild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak exhibition runs through March 5. In addition to regular exhibitions, the Columbus Museum of Art also offers a variety of events such as exhibition talks and creative programs, as well as free parking for members and visitors to the Museum Store and Schokko Café. Visitor information can be found here:

Upcoming exhibitions at the Cleveland Museum of Art include ‘The Tudors: Art and Majesty in Renaissance England’ from February 26, 2023 to May 28, 2023, ‘Imagining Rama’s Journey’ from March 10, 2023 to June 4, 2023, and ‘Riemenschneider and Late Medieval Alabaster’ from March 26, 2023 to July 2, 2023.

Upcoming exhibitions at the Columbus Museum of Art include the 2023 Greater Columbus Arts Council Visual Arts Awards Exhibition and a historic exhibition featuring six tapestries from Germany that have never appeared in the U.S. before. Visitors can also explore the museum’s permanent collection and artist projects and awards. The museum is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
