Ohio and Richland County’s noticeable turnaround in the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations is generally reflected last week in numbers reported by Richland County schools and long-term care facilities.

On Wednesday, the following numbers were reported by the Ohio Department of Health for the county’s long-term care facilities:

  • Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield — 2 residents, 3 staff

These five cases in one facility suggest a localized outbreak.

Similarly, Richland County schools continue to report a very modest number of COVID-19 infections:

  • Clear Fork — 2 students
  • Lexington — 1 staff
  • Madison — 4 students
  • Mansfield — 2 students
  • Pioneer CTC — 2 students
  • Shelby — 2 students
  • Richland School of Academic Arts — 2 students

On Monday, we will review the most recent COVID-19 vaccination numbers for Richland County.
