A story from Ancient Greece comes to Mansfield on November 4-6 as “The Tragedy of Julius Ceaser” is staged at Founders Auditorium on the campus of The Ohio State University – Mansfield.

“Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Cæsar, not to praise him.” “This was the most unkindest cut of all.” “Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once.” Some of the most quoted lines in all of Shakespeare’s works highlight this tragedy about politics and deceit. Revisit a world pulled apart by a charismatic leader, a viper’s den of political operatives, the search for nobility in the midst of corruption and backroom deals, and crowds easily swayed by a silver-tongued master of opportunism and manipulation.

The production is directed by Joseph Fahey, Associate Professor of Theatre at Ohio State Mansfield. Show dates are: Friday, November 4, at 7:00 PM; Saturday, November 5, at 8:00 PM; and Sunday, November 6, at 2:00 P<. Ticket prices: $7 general admission;, $5 senior citizens, non-Ohio State and non-NC State students and Ohio State Mansfield and NC State faculty staff and accompanying family members; $2 Ohio State Mansfield and NC State students (with current validated ID). Students not presenting valid ID are charged the $5 student price). Produced in cooperation with the Children’s Theatre Foundation.
