A new walking series at The Ontario Center is inviting Richland County residents to do more than get in a few steps. It is asking them to listen, connect, and take part in a shared community story.
The Voices of Richland County Walking Series, presented by Richland County Mobility Management, will bring together local residents and special guests for a series of informal walks held at Center Court of The Ontario Center. Each gathering will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The series is designed to be accessible and welcoming. Participants can take a short stroll, enjoy a longer walk, or simply move at whatever pace feels comfortable. The idea is simple: walking creates room for conversation. Along the way, participants will hear from people whose experiences, work, and public roles reflect different parts of the Richland County community.
The series begins on May 20 with Duana Patton, CEO of the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging. Additional dates will feature high school state champion athletes on June 3, pageant queens on June 17, and media personalities on July 1.
Organizers note that guest appearances are subject to availability.. The series is part of Mobility Steps, a walking initiative highlighting outstanding members of the Richland County community. Its broader message is about movement, connection, and inclusion.
“Come walk, connect, and listen,” the event invitation says. “Your voice is part of the story too.”
