There’s a certain rhythm to summer at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. It builds gradually, then crests in a few packed weekends when engines echo across the hills and the infield fills with campers, coolers, and longtime fans who know exactly where to sit. In 2026, that rhythm gets a little louder.

Permco has renewed its partnership with Mid-Ohio under a multi-year agreement, and it’s not a quiet extension. The company is doubling down on the track’s two signature motorcycle weekends, putting its name firmly at the center of what is shaping up to be one of the most concentrated stretches of racing on the calendar.

A Back-to-Back Motorcycle Showcase

The two headline events — Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days from July 24-26 and Permco MotoAmerica Superbikes at Mid-Ohio from July 31 to August 2 — will now be linked under a single banner: the “Mid-Ohio Motorcycle Jam Powered by Permco.”

Instead of two separate weekends, the track is effectively creating a continuous, two-week celebration of motorcycle culture. One leans into history, with vintage machines and enthusiasts who treat the paddock like a rolling museum. The other delivers modern speed and precision, with top-tier riders pushing superbikes to their limits. Put together, it’s a deliberate play to turn late July into a destination stretch, not just a pair of events.

More Than Naming Rights

Permco’s role here goes beyond title sponsorship. The company remains the exclusive hydraulic pump provider for the facility, a detail that might sound technical but signals something deeper: this is an operational partnership, not just a branding exercise.

If you’re thinking strategically, this is smart alignment. Permco builds high-pressure hydraulic gear pumps and motors, the kind of equipment that lives in industrial and mobile systems where reliability isn’t optional. Motorsport audiences, especially at a place like Mid-Ohio, overlap naturally with that world. These are attendees who understand machinery, performance, and durability in a hands-on way.

Building an Experience, Not Just an Event

The expanded partnership also touches other parts of the season. Permco will continue as title sponsor of the Car Corrals during the Vintage Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio from June 12-14, giving participants a chance to display their vehicles and take a lap on the 2.4-mile, 15-turn course.

And during the MotoAmerica weekend, the company plans to sponsor a live band performance — a small addition on paper, but exactly the kind of detail that keeps fans on-site longer and turns a race weekend into a full experience.

The Invitation Is the Strategy

Permco CEO Robby Shell leaned into that idea directly, framing the Motorcycle Jam as something bigger than a race weekend — more like a gathering point for the entire community. That tone isn’t accidental. It’s an invitation, and it reflects how these events actually function. People don’t just attend once. They return, year after year, often with the same groups, the same campsites, the same routines.

If the goal is to grow attendance, this is the right approach. You don’t just market the races. You market the tradition.

What This Means for Mid-Ohio

From a business standpoint, this is a solid win for Mid-Ohio. Long-term partnerships with industrial brands tend to be more stable than consumer-facing sponsorships, especially in a fluctuating economy. They’re less reactive, more relationship-driven, and often tied to shared values around engineering and performance. More importantly, the “Motorcycle Jam” concept gives the track a clearer narrative. Instead of two strong but separate weekends, it now has a defined centerpiece for the summer season.

That kind of clarity matters when you’re competing for attention, especially with so many entertainment options pulling at the same audience.

Planning Ahead

Season race passes and individual tickets are already available at advance pricing through March 31. As always, kids 12 and under get in free with a ticketed adult, which continues to be one of Mid-Ohio’s smartest long-term plays — building the next generation of fans without friction.

If the weather cooperates, and it usually does, those two weekends in late July could feel less like isolated events and more like the center of gravity for motorsports in Ohio this summer. And that’s exactly what both Mid-Ohio and Permco are aiming for.
