The Ohio Genealogical Society is based in here Richland County, and holds its annual conference at venues across the state each year. Genealogy enthusiasts are already looking ahead to this spring’s big event.

Finding Genealogy Gems

The 2026 OGS Conference will be held April 29 through May 2 at the Sharonville Convention Center in Sharonville, Ohio. The newly expanded and renovated facility is easy to reach right off I-75 and I-275, about 15 miles north of downtown Cincinnati.

Online registration is now open for what promises to be one of the Society’s most comprehensive conferences yet.

What You Can Expect

The theme for 2026 is “Finding Genealogical Gems.” Sandra Rumble, a well-known national genealogy speaker, will deliver the keynote address Thursday morning.

The conference schedule includes:

  • Wednesday afternoon workshops
  • Full program of sessions Thursday through Saturday
  • Session tracks covering DNA, technology, military, ethnic research, records research, and methodology
  • The OGS Annual Meeting at Saturday’s lunch
  • Optional lunches and dinners throughout the event, including the Lineage Banquet to honor ancestors

With so many tracks to choose from, each attendee will have a rich selection of topics to dive into.

Attendees have two primary hotel choices:

  • Hyatt Place Cincinnati (limited availability)
  • LivInn Hotel Cincinnati
