As the days slowly grow longer and winter begins to fade, the Mansfield Richland County Public Library is offering a variety of programs designed to bring people together. March activities across the system’s branches include puzzles, crafting, trivia, card games, and even dedicated time to finally finish those long-delayed projects.

The schedule offers something for a wide range of interests and skill levels, and many of the programs take place at different branch locations so residents throughout Richland County can easily participate.

Finish It Friday offers time and motivation

Anyone with an unfinished project tucked away at home may find the motivation they need during Finish It Friday. The program invites participants to bring along something they have been meaning to complete and spend a few focused hours working on it alongside others.

Sessions take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the following dates:

  • Friday, March 6 at the Butler branch
  • Friday, March 13 at the Lexington branch
  • Friday, March 20 at the Butler branch
  • Friday, March 27 at the Lucas branch

Projects can range from crafts to personal tasks that simply need a little uninterrupted time to reach the finish line.

Euchre Night keeps a regional favorite alive

Card players can gather for Euchre Night, a relaxed evening devoted to the popular Midwestern game that has long been a staple of community gatherings.

Games begin at 5:30 PM at three library branches:

  • Thursday, March 12 at Lucas
  • Thursday, March 19 at Butler
  • Monday, March 23 at Bellville

Both experienced players and newcomers are welcome, making it an easy way to learn the game or sharpen strategy.

Puzzle Palooza celebrates the joy of problem solving

Puzzle enthusiasts will find their place at Puzzle Palooza, scheduled for Friday, March 6 at 1:00 PM at the Main Library.

Participants can work on jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, or sudoku while enjoying warm beverages and the company of fellow puzzle lovers. The event is designed as a relaxed afternoon where people can collaborate or tackle challenges on their own.

Yarn Creations brings fiber artists together

Those who knit or crochet can gather for Yarn Creations on Monday, March 16 at 3:00 PM at the Bellville branch.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own yarn and supplies while sharing ideas, techniques, and conversation with other crafters in a welcoming setting.

Trivia night moves to a Mansfield taproom

For adults looking for a lively evening out, the library is partnering with The Phoenix Brewing Company for Taproom Trivia.

The event takes place Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 PM and is open to adults age 21 and older. Teams of five or fewer will compete through a mix of trivia categories that reward both knowledge and quick thinking.

Game Night offers strategy and friendly competition

The month wraps up with Game Night at the Library on Thursday, March 26 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Main Library.

The featured game this month is Pandemic, a cooperative strategy game where players work together to stop the spread of global outbreaks. A variety of additional board and card games will also be available.

Together, the March lineup reflects the library system’s broader goal of providing welcoming spaces where residents can gather, learn, and spend time together throughout the community.
