💧 Paxford Place boil advisory lifted

Saturday update: Mansfield lifted the precautionary boil advisory for Paxford Place between South Trimble Road and South Linden Road on September 26.

The advisory followed a water-main repair. City officials said all samples returned negative results confirming water purity. Residents with questions can contact the Water Repair Department at 419-755-9806 on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Read the city’s announcement. Paxford Place

🏭 Mansfield steelworkers await contract agreement

September 24 carryover: WQIO reported that United Steelworkers Local 169 members at Cleveland-Cliffs Mansfield Works were continuing to work under a 30-day contract extension following the September 1 expiration.

Negotiators had reached tentative agreements on safety, training and portions of contract language, while wages, pensions, health-care costs and incentive programs remained unresolved. Any tentative contract would go to members for a ratification vote. Read WQIO’s bargaining update. WQIO

🏗️ Shelby pursues traffic and park improvements

September 24 carryover: Shelby officials reviewed several projects at a September 22 committee meeting, including a secured grant for new traffic lights at Tucker Avenue and Gamble Street.

The city has also applied for funding to study traffic conditions at State and Gamble streets and to expand pickleball courts and renovate basketball facilities at Seltzer Park. 🌱 Richland County farm family earns state recognition

September 24 carryover: Neil and Pamela McKown of Watershed Ranch were among six families recognized with Ohio’s 2026 Conservation Farm Family Awards at Farm Science Review.

Their operation grows corn, soybeans, wheat and hay and raises Angus cattle. Conservation practices include grassed waterways, wildlife habitat improvements and livestock exclusion fencing. 🎓 Ohio State Mansfield connects students with local support

Happening today: Ohio State Mansfield’s “Adulting 101” session runs from 12:40 PM to 1:40 PM in CN 120H.

The program will help students locate affordable medical, dental and mental-health care in Richland County, including free and reduced-cost services.
