We’re back.
1812Blockhouse, or simply 1812 as we’ve always called it, has returned to Mansfield and Richland County after an almost six-month hiatus. At some point we may share more about that period, but for now it’s enough to say we’re thrilled, and a little surprised to be honest, to be back.
You will see some familiar features and some new ones. As you’ll notice right away, the site is still being built. We wanted to open the hood and let you see the process as we come back to life. Transparency has always been part of 1812, and that will not change.
We are also standing by the same core principle we started with: local news should open doors, not close them. There will be no paywall here at 1812. Paywalls divide. Free news connects. In many ways, 1812 continues the spirit of MidOhioLive, Richland County’s first online-only local news site. 1812 is published by one of MidOhioLive’s original owners.
