Mansfield’s BibleWalk houses a woodcarving collection that took one artist 30 years to create. Joseph Barta carved 100 life-size biblical figures, while his collection also includes more than 400 miniature carvings of wildlife, pets and livestock. 🏈 Last-minute touchdown gives Mansfield Senior its first win
Friday-night recap: Mansfield Senior defeated Lexington 32–27 at Arlin Field after freshman quarterback David Phillips III connected with Xavier Taylor on a 56-yard touchdown pass with 51 seconds remaining.
Lexington had taken a 27–26 lead just 10 seconds earlier on a touchdown run by sophomore quarterback Jayden Perkins. The dramatic finish gave the Tygers their first victory of the season and coach David Phillips his first varsity head-coaching win. Read the Mansfield News Journal recap.
🍂 Prairie Peddler’s opening weekend continues Sunday
Weekend event: Prairie Peddler welcomes visitors Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at 3170 State Route 97 near Butler.
The festival features approximately 220 vendors, nearly 30 food vendors, handmade goods, live entertainment and children’s activities. Admission is $12 for adults and $3 for children ages 6–12; younger children and parking are free. A second festival weekend follows October 3–4. Plan your visit.
🚜 Ohio Heritage Days brings living history to Malabar Farm
Weekend event: Saturday evening’s free barn dance runs from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Malabar Farm. No dance experience is required.
Ohio Heritage Days resumes Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with traditional crafts, historical demonstrations, antique tractors and activities throughout the grounds. Free self-guided tours of the Big House and Ceely Rose House are scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Festival admission and parking are free. See the Heritage Days schedule.
🦙 Alpaca Meadows offers a close-up look at farm life
Weekend event: Fall Farm Days continues Sunday from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Alpaca Meadows, 1200 Rock Road in Mansfield.
The free event includes alpacas, Angora goats, fiber demonstrations and a discovery area exploring how fleece becomes usable fiber. Sunday’s Angora goat shearing is scheduled for 1:00 PM. 👻 Blood Prison begins its Halloween season
Opening-weekend carryover: Blood Prison’s season began Friday at the Ohio State Reformatory, with additional dates scheduled Saturday and Sunday.
The haunted attraction at 100 Reformatory Road offers several admission options. Visitors must be at least 10 years old, and the optional Touch Pass is restricted to adults 18 and older. Check the ticket calendar for entry times and availability. View dates and tickets.
