🏠 Prospective buyers invited to learn about Shelby homes

Published Friday: The Richland County Land Bank will hold an informational meeting October 3 at 10:00 AM at Shelby City Hall for people interested in six new single-family homes.

The three-bedroom, two-bath homes will contain approximately 1,300 square feet and sell to income-eligible buyers for $200,000. The meeting will cover financing, eligibility requirements and construction timelines.

🚆 State grant supports Richland County rail work

Thursday action: The Ohio Rail Development Commission approved a $744,000 federal grant for Ashland Railway to rehabilitate four miles of its Willard Line in Richland County.

Ashland Railway will contribute $496,000, bringing the total investment to $1.24 million. Plans call for replacing approximately 7,000 crossties, adding ballast and resurfacing the track to improve safety and reduce derailment risks. See the September 24 commission packet.

🎶 Final Friday closes its downtown season

The final Brickyard concert of 2026 runs from 5:30 PM to approximately 10:30 PM tonight. Jody & Najee will open, followed by Frank Boyd Jr. and headliner Austin & The Syd Experience.

🏈 Lexington visits Mansfield Senior tonight

Lexington travels to Mansfield Senior for a 7:00 PM football game. The Minutemen enter at 1-4, while the Tygers are seeking their first victory of the season.

👻 Blood Prison begins its 2026 season

Blood Prison opens at 7:00 PM tonight inside the Ohio State Reformatory. The haunted attraction will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through November 1.
