Richland Houses: Cute As A Button In Mansfield

25 May , 2021

By 1812Blockhouse

We don’t know about you, but we here at 1812Blockhouse are fond of occasional window-shopping… of houses. One of the favorite ways to do so back in the day was the Haring Realty Home Show, on each Sunday on WMFD-TV.

Richland County is, of course, home to a rich variety of houses of all types, prices, and sizes. From time to time, almost all of them become available on the market for interested buyers.

We’re started a series here on 1812Blockhouse called “Richland Houses.” With each post, we share a sampling of what is now on the market that fit a particular description.

Today we look at what we’re calling “Cute As A Button In Mansfield.” These houses have tons of curb appeal packed into a relatively modest size. There’s plenty of curb appeal, however, and they are often reasonably priced. Enjoy taking a quick house tour or two! More…

Ohio Senators Introduce, Co-Sponsor Bill To Fuel Residential Development

11 Feb , 2021

Special to 1812Blockhouse

Bipartisan legislation recently introduced would create a new federal tax credit to fuel development and rehabilitation of single-family homes and attract $100 billion in development activity to underserved rural and urban communities across the country.

The bill was introduced by one Ohio US Senator and is co-sponsored by the other Ohio US Senator.

The Neighborhood Homes Investment Act (NHIA), introduced by Senators Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Rob Portman (R-OH), and co-sponsored by Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), Senator Todd Young (R-IN), Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), would encourage private investment in an estimated 500,000 homes that currently cannot be developed or rehabilitated because the costs to do so exceed the value of the home. The tax credit supports development of homes in rural communities struggling with the costs of new construction, as well as the rehabilitation of homes in blighted urban communities, where vacant homes depress property values and thwart broader revitalization efforts.
