On Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 PM, the stage at the Renaissance Performing Arts Association becomes a doorway to Ireland.

That evening, Renaissance Theatre welcomes Celtic Angels Ireland, a touring production that blends music, dance, and storytelling into a single, sweeping celebration of Irish culture. Arriving just ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, the performance promises something more than a concert and more than a dance show. It is a theatrical journey across centuries of Irish tradition.

Directed by Louise Barry with musical arrangements by Peter Sheridan, the production weaves together more than 30 traditional and contemporary Irish tunes. On stage, the Trinity Ensemble, the Heavenly Celtic Angels, and the Celtic Knights Dancers move seamlessly between soaring harmonies, rhythmic footwork, and quiet, reflective moments that draw the audience in close.

The effect is immersive. One moment is filled with the percussive thunder of synchronized steps, the next with the hush of a ballad that seems to carry across green hills and ancient stone villages. The show’s pacing allows each element to breathe, giving equal weight to music, movement, and narrative.

This is a production designed for all ages. Some will come for the choreography. Others for the music. Many will find themselves drawn into the storytelling that ties it all together. What emerges is a portrait of a culture shaped by resilience, faith, humor, and artistry.

Before the curtain rises

The evening is also meant to feel festive from the start. Patrons are encouraged to wear green and take part in informal St. Patrick’s Day fun in the lobby, including green beer available at the bar. It is a small touch that turns a night at the theatre into a shared celebration with friends and family.

Tickets are available through the Renaissance Box Office at 138 Park Avenue West in Mansfield, open Tuesday through Friday from 12 PM to 5 PM, by phone at 419-522-2726, or online anytime at Rentickets.org.

Supporting the arts close to home

Events like this do not happen by accident. Sponsorships play a quiet but essential role in bringing touring productions of this caliber to Mansfield and keeping live performance accessible to local audiences.

Those interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Grace Riegel, Development and Executive Affairs Coordinator, at grace@mansfieldtickets.com to learn more about how to support upcoming performances and the broader mission of the theatre.

For one evening in early March, Mansfield audiences won’t need a passport to experience Ireland. They only need a ticket and a seat in the theatre.
