When the door opens at 128 North Main Street at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, a flood of small shoppers will take over the aisles once again. The Tiny Tim Christmas Shoppe, one of downtown Mansfield’s most beloved holiday traditions, is back for the 2025 season.

The shop is designed just for children ages 12 and under. With a volunteer at their side, kids browse shelves filled with gift options for parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers, and friends. Prices are kept low — every item is $20.00 or less — and once a decision is made, the wrapping supplies come out. Children not only pick their gifts, they wrap and tag them on the spot, all without adults seeing what’s inside.

For many families, that moment of secrecy and pride has become its own kind of Christmas magic.

How It Works

To keep the experience calm and enjoyable, reservations are required. Each reservation equals one child shopping, and four spots are available every half hour.

For families with several children, overlapping time slots are encouraged.
Example: A family of six might reserve four spots between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM, and two spots between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM.

Reservations are free. The goal isn’t revenue — it’s giving kids a safe and meaningful chance to choose gifts on their own.

More information and sign-ups are available through Downtown Mansfield, Inc.

Behind the Scenes: Volunteers Make It Work

The shop runs entirely with volunteer help, and every shift is packed with tiny surprises: choosing the perfect keychain for Dad, wrapping a scented candle for Grandma, or trying to hide a gift from a brother who definitely knows something is up.

Volunteers help kids:

• Browse the selection
• Make decisions without being influenced
• Wrap and tag gifts
• Stay on budget

Patience is not required, but it definitely helps.

Anyone who enjoys working with kids or wrapping gifts is welcome to sign up. Those under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a release at drop-off; groups such as schools or youth organizations should email info@downtownmansfield.com to receive a waiver.

A Small Shop With Big Impact

For children, the Tiny Tim Christmas Shoppe is more than a shopping trip. It’s independence, kindness, and the joy of giving all wrapped into one.

And for parents, it’s simple: they get to open a gift they had no role in choosing — a rare treat during the whirlwind of the season.

Opening day is November 22.
The memories go far beyond that.
