Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop has officially opened at 80 West Third Street inside the historic Caldwell building, bringing an explosion of color and sugar to downtown Mansfield. The shop feels like stepping into a time capsule and a playground at the same time. Shelves stretch high and deep with treats you haven’t tasted since childhood and others you’ve never seen before.
You don’t browse Grandpa Joe’s. You embark.
A Candy Store For People Who Still Believe in Surprise
The new downtown spot offers hand-dipped ice cream, chocolates, international favorites, and so many sodas that choosing one becomes its own adventure.

And yes, the infamous $5 Candy Buffet is here. Five dollars. Whatever fits in the container. No one pretends that’s easy.
The store’s team calls themselves candy historians, and they take that job seriously. Ask where a weird Swedish gummy or a vintage chocolate bar came from, and you’ll get a story. Grandpa Joe’s started in Pittsburgh, but every location leans into its neighborhood. Mansfield’s shop already feels like it belongs here.
Downtown has added restaurants and boutiques in recent years. A candy store, especially one with this much character, feels like the missing puzzle piece.

Roseto Event Venue, located at 23 North Main Street, is preparing for its ribbon cutting at 11:00 AM on November 21.
