The Village of Bellville is preparing for a leadership transition after Village Administrator Michael Morton announced he will be leaving to become the Safety Service Director for Ontario. Morton has served Bellville for the past two years, working closely with council and staff on water, wastewater, storm water, streets, zoning, and park operations.

Village officials publicly thanked Morton for his work and wished him and his family well as they begin the next chapter. They’re now asking residents to help spread the word that Bellville is seeking strong candidates for the administrator role, with applications due by December 19, 2025.

The position guides day-to-day municipal operations and supports the mayor and council on policy decisions, project planning, zoning enforcement, and coordination with state, federal, and regional agencies. The next administrator will also oversee contractor work, manage grant activity, and ensure village services remain responsive to residents.

Resumes may be emailed to mayor@villageofbellville.com or delivered to Village Hall at 142 Park Place between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
