Kingwood Center Gardens is getting ready for the season with a full schedule of December programs, each offering a different way to experience the historic estate during the holidays. From traditional tours to hands-on workshops, there’s plenty on the calendar for families, hobbyists, and anyone who enjoys the atmosphere of a decorated mansion in winter.

Tours of Kingwood Hall

Kingwood Hall takes on a different character once the decorations go up. Education staff will lead guided tours throughout December, including a behind-the-scenes version for visitors who enjoy the deeper dive. Both standard and modified tours are available so guests can choose the pace and style that works best for them.

Storytime with Santa

Families can gather around the Christmas tree inside Kingwood Hall for a relaxed visit with Santa. Each session includes a short story, a small treat, and a simple craft tied to the theme of the day. Parents are encouraged to bring a camera if they want a photo of the moment.

Evergreen Gnomes Workshop

This lighthearted workshop invites guests to build a holiday gnome using cut evergreens and a tomato cage. Participants are asked to bring an old sweater from home to finish the look. It’s a simple project and a fun way to add something handmade to seasonal décor.

Fused Glass Ornament Workshop

Local artist Juil Parsons of Lasercraft Enterprises will lead a fused-glass ornament workshop for anyone looking to make a one-of-a-kind gift. All materials are provided. Finished ornaments will be available for pickup at Kingwood the following week after firing.
