🚧 Main Street project enters its closing stages
Tuesday carryover: Mansfield’s Main Street Improvement Project is approaching the finish line, although short daytime lane closures and traffic shifts may continue between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
Recent work includes tree installation, decorative-brick preparation, fountain construction, storm-sewer improvements and programming for new traffic signals. 💰 County records its strongest sales-tax month
Tuesday report: Richland County expects to receive more than $2.8 million in September sales-tax revenue, reflecting economic activity from June.
County Auditor Pat Dropsey called it the largest single month of sales-tax revenue in county history. Tourism officials pointed to June events at Mansfield Speedway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the Ohio State Reformatory and the Brickyard as contributing factors. Year-to-date collections have reached $21.3 million, 4.6% ahead of the comparable 2025 period. Read the county financial report.
🛴 Shelby considers new e-bike and scooter rules
Tuesday carryover: Shelby City Council gave a first reading to legislation governing bicycles, e-bikes, scooters and other personal transportation devices.
The proposal would establish pedestrian-priority areas and prohibit personal conveyance devices on streets with speed limits above 25 mph. Police Chief Lance Combs said enforcement would emphasize education, warnings for juveniles and communication with parents. A second reading is expected in October.
Council also approved financing for the remaining $750,000 balance on a new fire truck and advanced funding applications for the Wall Street waterline and resurfacing project. Read the Shelby News Reporter.
🚙 Shelby dealership unveils its expansion today
Earlier announcement, happening Wednesday: Buckeye Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Shelby will hold a grand opening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM today along Mansfield Avenue. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4:20 PM.

🐴 Heritage Days returns to Malabar Farm this weekend
