The Mansfield/Richland County Public Library’s Winter Reading Program is back, offering a straightforward reason to read more during the coldest stretch of the year. From January 5 through January 31, readers of all ages are invited to spend time with books, eBooks, or audiobooks and turn that time into chances to win weekly prizes.

This year’s program adds a clear incentive. Completed reading tickets, submitted either in person or online, are entered into weekly gift card drawings. One book equals one ticket, and every ticket is another shot at a reward. It’s intentionally simple, keeping the focus on reading rather than rules.

Participation is flexible. Tickets can be picked up and dropped off at all nine library locations or at any Bookmobile stop. Readers who prefer digital options can submit tickets online by visiting mrcpl.org/wrp26, making it easy to join from home at any hour.

The program is open to children, teens, and adults, with prize drawings organized by age group. Adults can also follow the library on Facebook during the month for additional chances to win, a small bonus for staying connected.

For those juggling busy schedules, the Ontario Branch’s 24/7 hold lockers remain available for after-hours pickup, and the library’s digital collection is accessible around the clock.

The Winter Reading Program isn’t about racing through pages. It’s about making space for reading during winter and being rewarded, week by week, for showing up.
