🕯️ Mansfield Post mourns Sergeant Tyler Carr
Announced late Thursday and reported Friday: Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant Tyler Carr of the Mansfield Post died following an off-duty traffic crash.
The Patrol said its thoughts are with Carr’s family and the entire Patrol family. Authorities had not released details about the crash as of Friday morning. Read the regional report from Cleveland 19 or see the Patrol’s announcement.
🏈 Unbeatens collide in Shelby tonight
Wednesday preview, happening Friday: Ontario and Shelby enter tonight’s game with identical 7-0 overall and 4-0 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference records. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM in Shelby.
The winner can secure at least a share of the conference championship next week and strengthen its chances of receiving a first-round playoff bye. 🏁 World of Outlaws returns to Mansfield Speedway
Happening Friday: Mansfield Speedway will host the second round of Sheldon Haudenschild’s Buckeye Brawl, marking the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series’ first appearance at the track since 1981.
Pit gates open at 2:00 PM, grandstands at 4:00 PM and hot laps begin at 6:30 PM. The 30-lap feature carries an $18,000 winner’s prize, and 45 drivers are entered. See the official race information.
🏛️ Shelby preservation panel meets this morning
Wednesday announcement, happening Friday: The Shelby Historic Preservation Commission meets at 9:00 AM in the Water Street conference room at City Hall.
The public meeting includes certificates of appropriateness, historic-district signage and other preservation matters. Read the Shelby News Reporter notice.
🚧 East Fifth Street remains closed
Thursday carryover: East Fifth Street is closed between Ashland Road and Wayne Street for water-main repairs. No through traffic is permitted.

🎭 “Dracula” continues its Mansfield run
Happening this weekend: “Dracula: A Horror Story” returns to the Renaissance Theatre at 7:30 PM Friday and Saturday, with an additional late performance at 10:30 PM Saturday and a 2:30 PM Sunday matinee.
