The Richland County Emergency Management Agency is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan to identify policies and actions that can be implemented to reduce risk and future losses from hazards. FEMA requires mitigation plans to be updated every 5 years, and by doing so the Richland County can be eligible to receive funding through several FEMA disaster response and recoveryp programs.

The Richland County Emergency Management Agency has been awarded $28,728.78 in funding Ohio Homeland Security Grant Program.
