Mansfield City Schools has announced that the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Breakfast and Program will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Mansfield Senior High Commons and Auditorium.
“We are looking forward to having the event in-person,” said Superintendent Stan Jefferson. 2021’s performance was held virtually. Masks are recommended for attendance and will be provided at the door.
The theme, “We Are One CommUNITY,” is centered on the connections between school, community, and community agencies. A student-focused program will include those from the district as well as students from OSU-Mansfield. Performances will vary from song, dance, and speeches. State and local leaders, administration, staff and students are excited to take part in the virtual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration! Continuing to fight for justice and freedom for all people is a vital part of our community.
Each year, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day honors Dr. King’s legacy by providing an opportunity for Americans to renew their own personal vows of citizenship through service to others and engagement in conversations to advance community goals. In Richland County, a January 20 Community Breakfast and Celebration has been planned.
The program will begin at 8:30 AM at is being held at Mansfield Senior High School. Tickets, which include a buffet-style catered breakfast, are priced at $5. Tickets may be purchased at the Mansfield City Schools’ Raemelton administration building (856 West Cook Road, Mansfield), weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or on the tygerpride.com website (click “online ticketing” on the lower left-hand side of the page).
