Holiday Music To Fill Renaissance Theatre

The sounds of the season will come alive as the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra and Chorus present its “Holiday Pops” concert with two performances at the Renaissance Theatre in Mansfield.

Under the direction of Octavio Más-Arocas, the concert features a mix of contemporary and classic holiday repertoire with the ever-popular, carol sing! Performances will be on Saturday, December 19 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, December 20 at 2:30 PM and are part of the OhioHealth Symphony Series.

The enchanting program will feature songs from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker ballet, It’s the Very Best Time of the Year by John Rutter, Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, and many more. More…

Mansfield Symphony Chorus Seeks Members

The Mansfield Symphony Chorus (MSC) is welcoming virtual auditions for its 2020-2021 season.

Any member of the community is invited to audition. Under the direction of Chorus Master Lori Turner, MSC will perform three concerts this season: SingOut! A Choral Celebration, Holiday Pops, and Carmina Burana (the latter two in collaboration with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra). More…

Mansfield Symphony Chorus Will Hold Open Auditions

The Mansfield Symphony Chorus is seeking new voices to add to the Chorus. Rather than setting aside a specific day for auditions, Chorus Master Lori Turner will make herself available for interest community members who would like to audition. The first choral rehearsal will be held on Sunday, February 23, at the Renaissance Theatre; however, auditions can be held at any time throughout the season. High School Choirs Join Symphony Chorus for Sing Out!

New Symphony Chorus Master Named

The Renaissance Performing Arts Association and Mansfield Symphony Orchestra have announced the recent appointment of its new Chorus Master of the Mansfield Symphony Chorus, Lori Turner.

Lori Turner brings nearly three decades of award-winning experience to her position of Chorus Master.  She has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at the Paris Opera in France and has made numerous television and film appearances. More…

French Masterpieces To Close MSO Season

It is altogether fitting with the somber news coming from Paris this week that local musical organizations are joining together to perform two masterworks of the French classical repertoire.

Symphony Chorus Announces New Interim Director, Rehearsals, And Program

The Mansfield Symphony Chorus is eager to announce the appointment of Brian Nabors as interim director of the ensemble through the end of the 2018-2019 OhioHealth Symphony Series season. Nabors will lead the group in preparation for the May 12 “Joyous Finale” concert with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra.

The first half of the May concert will feature music from Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas’ original production Sentimental Journey, a reflective tribute to the sacrifices of “the greatest generation,” using songs, narration, and letters from the front of the World War II era. More…
