Raising Richland Community Garden Summit This Thursday

Connect at Kingwood for the Raising Richland Community Garden Summit this Thursday, March 24, from 5-8 PM.

The summit is free and will include areas of interest for both children and adults with a theme this year of Herb Gardening.

Children will have Displays & Snacks and a Cultivating Kids session. Adults will enjoy garden exhibits & vendors, two herb gardening speaker sessions, refreshments, and door prize drawings.

Those words greet visitors to Kingwood Center Gardens’ first-ever online garden shop, a location where those with green thumbs, and green thumb wannabes, can obtain plants that will enhance their own flower beds.

Food And Community Come Together At OSUM Symposium

Community leaders in Mansfield are thinking about food and where it comes from a little bit differently today. That’s after The Ohio State University at Mansfield held the 2018 Food Systems Symposium March 1 at Oasis of Love Church in Mansfield.

Over 100 people attended the event. Participants talked about how to address economic, education, diet and food security issues in the community. The goal of the meeting was to discuss how all in the community could work together to create a community-based vision to improve access to safe, affordable and nutritious food in Mansfield and Richland County.
