Make Room On Thansgiving For A Turkey Trot

Looking for a great way to kick off Thanksgiving Day? The Mansfield and Lexington Turkey Trot, which offers running and walking for either 5k or 10k, returns for Thanksgiving morning 2019. The course is on the historic B&O Railway Trail and will start at Stop 11 in Lexington.

The races kick off with the Kids Fun Run at 8:40 AM followed by the Half Marathon, 10k and 5k start at 8:50 AM on Thanksgiving Thursday, November 28. More…

Fall Hike For Health

Richland Public Health’s annual “Fall Hike for Health” is Saturday, October 19, at Malabar Farm State Park and Gorman Nature Center in Mansfield. The fall hikes are in their 19th year at Malabar Farm State Park and 5th year at Gorman Nature Center.

Enjoy the beauty of Ohio’s fall colors at both locations with hikes through the woods from 9 AM to 12 PM. Hikes are self-guided with suggested start times by 11 AM. More…

Winter Hike For Health

Richland Public Health’s “Winter Hike for Health” on Saturday, February 9, will be in two locations. In addition to the traditional hike at Malabar Farm State Park, Gorman Nature Center in Mansfield is joining in the day’s healthy fun.

Enjoy the winter wonderland with hikes through the woods at either location from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Hikes are self-guided on easy trails so everyone in the family can participate. Adults must accompany children. More…

Just Walk Richland Continues Walking Meetups

It’s a movement that brings local residents together to engage in collective whole health walking in Richland County. Walks are open to all and take place in various types of terrain – including parks, urban streets, residential neighborhoods, along the Richland B&O Trail, and others.

Participants are welcome to join in no matter their motivation – to meet new people, engage in healthy activity, experience nature, whatever the case. Recent walks have included a Trail Walk with the City of Shelby Health Department, an Ohio Bird Sanctuary Trail Walk, and a “Beat the Heat” Woods Fitness Hike.” More…
