Socks For Seniors Goal Bigger Than Before

The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, We ACT, and Richland County Children Services are partnering along with many community organizations to collect socks for nursing home residents. Socks will be donated to local nursing facilities. Public drop-off sites collecting socks include: Richland County Children’s Services, Area Agency on Aging, First Christian Church of Ashland, Ashland County Council on Aging, Ontario Lions Club, Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital, Ashland Public Library, Shelby Community and Senior Center, Mansfield St. Peter’s Parish, City of Mansfield Administrative Office (Safety Director Lori Cope), and Marion Technical College. Registration Deadline Nears For Newhope Charities Golf Outing

The 20th Annual Newhope Charities Golf Outing is coming up Friday, July 20 at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Lexington.   The cost is $360 per team or $90 per golfer. The deadline to register is July 9.  Those who register and pay by June 29 will receive the Early Bird Special discount of $5 per golfer. The entry fee includes golf, cart, driving range, food, beverages, skins game, proximities, team photo, and a goody bag. Catholic Charities Celebrate 75 Years

Earlier this month, a successful local non-profit celebrated a remarkable anniversary. “Your help is crucial to us as we move forward,” said Rebecca Owens, Catholic Charities Regional Director, thanking over 250 attendees, board and community members, volunteers and staff for their generous service and support. The 75th Anniversary event raised nearly $70,000 for Catholic Charities services in Richland County. Donations are still being accepted to meet the $75,000 goal. Read More

Catholic Charities Celebrating 75 Years In North Central Ohio

Catholic Charities is holding an event to mark three quarters of a century in service to the Richland County area, and you’re invited to join the celebration! “Grace Before Meals,” with Fr. Leo Patalinghug and Bishop Daniel E. Thomas on Tuesday, will take place on November 7 at the Kehoe Center, 175 Mansfield Avenue in Shelby. Fr. Leo, television host of Savoring Our Faith on EWTN, will demonstrate how simply creating and sharing a meal can strengthen all kinds of relationships. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the dinner program begins at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $50 per person. Read More

It’s a great combination – an afternoon of fun and refreshments, an opportunity to make great art, and the ability to give back to the wider community. You are invited to come to the Mansfield Art Center on one of two sessions – October 27 or November 4 – and have fun decorating and glazing a soup bowl. Then, on December 9, you can bring the bowl back to the Center to share in a free meal together of soup, drinks, and desserts in an event known as the “Charit-A-Bowl.” Read More

Richland Gives, the annual fundraising effort for dozens of area non-profits in conjunction with the Richland County Foundation, showed one thing clearly during its 12 hour run on Tuesday: The Mansfield and Richland County community is alive, well, and cares about its future. According to its website, the official total at the end of the day reflected a staggering $163,046 generated from 472 donors and 743 total donations. Read More
