If you live in an older home here in North Central Ohio, we have just the workshop for you!

The Richland Area Preservation Group (RPAG) is hosting a 3-day workshop event to teach participants how to fix and restore wood windows, in order to bring them back to operation and increase a home’s aesthetic appeal. They have engaged Blind Eye Restoration, LLC to lead the workshop.

The J. Coulter House (171 West First Street, Mansfield) will be utilized for this program, so that participants are able to get actual hand-on experience. Each day of the workshop is structured as an individual class, so that participants do not have to attend all 3 days. Topics taught will include the anatomy of a window, glazing and weather-stripping.

The cost to attend each day is $15, or $30 for all 3 days. The J. Coulter House offers an indoor working environment with supplemental heat.

The schedule for the workshop is:

Day 1 (November 23, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Removing and Opening Stuck Windows

Day 2 (November 24, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Glazing and Repairing Broken Glass

Day 3 (November 25, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM): Re-roping and weather-proofing.

To sign up for workshops, visit RPAG’s Facebook page, where you will be directed to register for the classes online.

The Richland Preservation Action Group works to build local connections between professionals, craftsmen and property owners in Richland County, in order to foster a preservation mindset and positive preservation actions to benefit the local community and honor our past.
