Take a trip to the past this weekend as Malabar Farm State Park hosts the Forty-Second Annual Ohio Heritage Days Festival and In the Spirit of Friends Antiques & Primitives Show.

From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM both Saturday and Sunday, the Festival will include crafts, antiques, primitives, antiques tractors, horses, food, live music, a Civil War & Buck Skinners Camp, and archaeological displays (Sunday only).

This is one of Ohio’s largest free outdoor craft and living history festivals.

Crafters will be working in weaving, wood carving, spinning, quality, and broom making, and visitors can also view blacksmithing, musket shooting, and pioneer cooking. Food will include Amish meats and cheeses, funnel cakes, and old fashioned root beer floats. The smokehouse will also be operating those days, and naturalists will be offering free samples.

There will also be live musical entertainment and clogging performances as well as self-guided tours of the downstairs of the Big House.

If interested in purchasing items, bringing cash is advised as not all vendors take credit cards or checks.

Then, in conjunction with the Heritage Days Festival, Malabar Farm will host its Heritage Barn Dance from 7-10 PM on Saturday. Open to beginners and experienced dancers alike, the barn dance includes square and line dancing with live music and a caller.

A $1 donation is requested at the door for ages 12 and older. There is no suggested donation for children under 12.
