Mansfield City School District Unveils 2024-25 Calendar: Key Dates and Breaks to Know

The Mansfield City School District has released its calendar for the 2024-25 academic year. With the new school year just around the corner, it’s time for students, parents, and staff to mark their calendars with important dates to ensure a smooth and successful year ahead.

Important Start and End Dates

The 2024-25 school year kicks off on August 21 for students in grades K, 3, 7, and 9. This staggered start allows for a smoother transition for students entering new schools or significant grade levels. All other students will begin their academic journey on August 22. The school year is set to conclude on May 30, which also coincides with an early release day.

For seniors, Graduation Day is scheduled for May 24, offering a proud culmination of years of hard work and achievement.

Holidays and Breaks

The calendar is peppered with well-timed breaks that offer students and staff opportunities to recharge:

  • Thanksgiving Break: November 27, 28 & 29
  • Winter Break: December 23 – January 6
  • Spring Break: March 17 – 24

These breaks not only allow for rest but also align with traditional holiday periods, providing families ample time to plan vacations and gatherings.

No School for Students

In addition to the holiday breaks, there are several dates throughout the year when students will not have school due to holidays and teacher professional development days. Notable among these are:

  • Labor Day: September 2
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day: January 20
  • Presidents’ Day: February 17
  • Memorial Day: May 26

Additionally, students will have a break on several dates in September, October, and February, as well as throughout April, ensuring that the school year is well-paced with both academic rigor and time for rest.

Early Release Dates

Throughout the school year, the district has scheduled early release days to provide students with shorter school days, which can be a relief as the school year progresses. These dates include:

  • September 24
  • December 20
  • February 18
  • March 14
  • May 30

These early release days often serve as valuable opportunities for staff development and planning, contributing to the continued excellence in education that the Mansfield City School District is known for.

Community and Communication

As the school year approaches, the district emphasizes the importance of staying informed and engaged. Mansfield City Schools encourages parents and students to follow their official channels for updates:
