The Mansfield/Richland County Public Library is certainly keeping up with the times. So much so, in fact, that patrons can actually take the library’s internet access with them as they go home.

A duly registered account and appropriate identification will enable the checkout of mobile wifi hotspots. These devices, which utilize the T-Mobile network, gives access to laptops, tablets, and smartphones, and other devices.

Basic usage guidelines include the following:

  • Customers must be 18 years of age or older to checkout a Mobile Hotspot.
  • Customer must be in good standing with the library, with a current address on file and no fines above $10.
  • Mobile Hotspots may be checked out for one week (7 days). Holds may be placed, and renewals are allowed if there are no holds on the item.
  • Mobile Hotspots must be returned in person to any location, not placed in a library book drop.
  • Overdue Mobile Hotspots will be deactivated within 72 hours (3 days) of due date.
  • The Mobile HotSpot can provide WiFi Internet access for up to 10 devices.

There is a hefty overdue fine for late returns to the tune of $1.25 per day.
