Catholic Schools Week is here. From January 27 to January 31, St. Peter’s School will join schools nationwide in celebrating the vital role of Catholic education in shaping communities and individuals. Each day of the week is packed with exciting activities to reflect on the week’s theme: Faith. Excellence. Service. Here’s what’s in store:
Monday, January 27 – Celebrating Community
The week kicks off by recognizing the importance of the community in Catholic education. Mayor Perry will visit students from kindergarten through 12th grade to share insights about local government and civic engagement. The visit serves as a reminder of how schools and communities work together to create strong, faith-filled futures.
Tuesday, January 28 – Celebrating Vocations
Dreams will come to life on Tuesday as students from preschool through 12th grade dress up as their dream vocation—whether it’s a doctor, firefighter, teacher, artist, or even the next mayor! The activity not only sparks creativity but also helps students reflect on how their future careers can serve others in meaningful ways.
Wednesday, January 29 – Celebrating the Nation
Patriotism takes center stage on Wednesday.
- Attire: Students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue paired with uniform bottoms to show their love for the nation.
- Veterans and Active Duty Service Members: Local veterans and active military members are invited to join the school community for Mass at 8:30 AM. Following the service, refreshments will be served in the church basement—a small token of appreciation for their service.
- Student Performances: Students in grades K-4 will perform during Mass, adding a heartfelt touch to the morning celebration. Families are welcome to attend and join in the patriotic spirit!
Thursday, January 30 – Celebrating Students
Thursday is all about the students who make Catholic schools so vibrant and special!
- Students in K-12 will enjoy an out-of-dress-code day.
- A no-homework policy for the evening ensures they can relax and enjoy time with family.
- Lunchtime brings an extra dose of excitement with a “special treat” for all students, courtesy of the school.
Friday, January 31 – Celebrating Staff
The week concludes with a heartfelt thank-you to the dedicated staff who make St. Peter’s an exceptional place to learn and grow.
- Attire: Students and staff will show their school spirit by wearing Spartan-themed clothing.
- Lunch: The St. Peter’s School Board is providing lunch for all staff members—a well-deserved gesture of appreciation for their tireless efforts.
- Pep Rally: The school will wrap up the week with an all-school pep rally in the afternoon, uniting students from preschool through 12th grade in a celebration of their shared faith, achievements, and school pride.
