Mansfield City Schools will share a strong anti-bullying message during the Ocie Hill Community Block Party from 12 to 4 PM this Saturday, July 28.

Several other community groups will participate. Oasis of Love Church Charities will distribute free school supplies. A bouncy house and a rock climbing wall will be part of the free event.

Free food and soft drinks will be provided by Mansfield City Schools’ partners, including:

  • Marco’s Pizza – free slices of pizza
  • Chipotle – free sandwiches
  • Coca-Cola – free drinks
  • Biker’s Against Child Abuse – free freezie pops

“This year Mansfield City Schools is taking the lead in getting a positive anti-bullying message out to the community: Stop the Bullying. Hear something? See something? Say something!” said Joetta McCruter-Polk, who served as freshman class parent liaison.

Mansfield City Schools will have a Stop the Bullying pledge certificate for students to sign and anti-bullying tips and information for students and parents. Speakers will include Superintendent Brian Garverick, Freshman Academy Principal Andrew Schiefer and Holly Christie, Ph.D, district director of student support programs.

Three of last year’s freshmen who spoke at a Mansfield Senior High child-abuse prevention rally also will speak.

Ocie Hill is located at 445 Bowman St.
