There’s a happy problem these days at the Madison Adult Career Center (MACC).
Enrollment is up about 25% over this time last year. Staff members have been busy enrolling students in Clinical Care Technologies (Medical Assisting); Dental Assisting; Welding Technology; Advanced Cosmetology; Industrial Electrical Maintenance, Phlebotomy/EKG and Precision Machining/CNC Technology. Programs starting soon include Administrative Medical Office, State Tested Nurse Aide and Automotive Technology.
“Enrollment numbers are always changing as many of our programs have multiple start dates,” Direct Sonja Pluck stated. Pluck was quick to add that MACC filled the Welding Technology program for the first time since she became Director eighteen years ago and was pleased with overall enrollment.
“We are so excited to add daytime Medical Assisting training through our Clinical Care Technologies program which also includes certification in STNA and Phlebotomy in addition to Medical Assisting. A couple years ago Richland County Transit added Madison to the public transportation route and this has helped us serve more students.” Pluck added
Lisa Miracle, Assistant Director added that “Many of our programs enrollment doubled the week before class began which was a great problem to have!” Miracle credited the Student Support Staff and Instructors with “incredible work ethic” and “having a heart for students” for pulling off a successful start to the school year.
Like that for Madison Schools, a new MACC website is on its way. In the meantime, catch up with the latest offerings on the Center’s Facebook page, which can be accessed here.
