Two guests will be visiting downtown Mansfield on Friday night.

Who are they? Here’s a hint – one of them will be wearing red and white and the other has been known to wear a crown.

December 6 is not only the monthly First Friday Shop Hop in downtown Mansfield, it’s also the official kickoff to the holiday season. This annual community gathering is full of holiday fun and spirit. The event will include the following:

  • 5:30 PM: A performance by the Richland School of Academic Arts
  • 5:45 PM: Appearance by Miss Ohio
  • 5:50 PM: Prayer with Crossroads Church
  • 6:00 PM: Christmas Tree Lighting
  • 6:30 PM: Mayor Tim Theaker will light the municipal building

There will also be a very special appearance by Santa Claus himself, who will be available for photos with kids (young and old). Additionally, there will be live reindeer, Christmas caroling, carriage rides and more.

Since this is First Friday Shop Hop too, downtown businesses are also getting in on the fun. Just a few of the features from these businesses:

  • Main Street Books will host a book talk and signing with Mike and Janice Olszewski, authors of Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Landmarks.
  • Phoenix Brewing Company will be offering live music from James Drakes starting at 8:00 PM.
  • Tara’s Floral Expressions and The Chill will have live entertainment by Simply Annette & Company as well as Art for sale by Clare Boggs.
  • Mind Body Align will host a drum circle at 5:00 PM
