If you chance to walk along North Main Street some evening and believe you are hearing classical music, it may not be all in your head. Step inside Relax, Its Just Coffee at 105 North Main, and you may just hear something wonderful.

On Saturday, February 11 at 7:30 PM, you are invited to hear a performance by tenor Daniel Stein, with Dr. Ryan Behan at the piano. The evening will feature music by 20th century English composers Gerald Finzi and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Daniel Stein

So far during the 2016-2017 season, Daniel Stein has sung the role of Rodolfo in an Opera Columbus performance of Puccini’s La Boheme; and was the featured soloist for a holiday concert with the New Albany Symphony Orchrsta. Other apperances this season will include being a soloist for a performance of Verdi’s Requiem with the University of North Carolina Greensboro and singing with the OSU Opera and Lyric Theatre’s performance of Puccini’s La Rondine.

At home on the operatic stage, highlights for Mr. Stein have included Azaël in L’Enfant Prodigue (Debussy) which CVNC.org said his “ringing tenor…as Azaël was outstanding. His warm timbre was especially fine for French and his diction stood out among a cast that was strong on this feature.” A former Principal Young Artist with Opera North (NH) and Resident Artist at Opera  Carolina. A native of Mansfield, he currently resides in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and daughters.

Tickets are just $5, which can be purchased online or at the door.

This mini concert is part of the Mid-Ohio Opera Winter Artist Series; on January 27, Baritone Brian Hupp performed at Relax with pianist Deb Logan (see below).
