The Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre, under the direction of Lori Turner, will present two fairytale-inspired musicals on the stage of the Renaissance Theatre, May 26 and 27. “Into the Woods, Jr.” is a twisted retelling of a number of fairytales, in which Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and other characters get mixed up with a witch, as well as their own selfish desires. The one-act curtain raiser, “1001 Arabian Nights,” tells the story of a murderous king and his wife who is able to entrance him, and save her own life, with nightly stories – including Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and more.

“With a cast of 75, we creating our set by utilizing both multimedia scenery and cast members,” touts Turner.
