Jennifer Wagner has been appointed as the newest member of the Richland Newhope/Richland County Board of Developmental Disabilities (DD). Selected by the Richland County Commissioners, she officially took the oath of office on Tuesday at the Commissioner’s office. Wagner’s term on the board offers her the opportunity to serve for up to three four-year terms.

A Passion for Serving the Community

Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role, having spent the past 27 years volunteering with individuals with developmental disabilities. She expressed her enthusiasm for this new opportunity, stating:

“For the past 27 years, I have had the privilege of volunteering with individuals with developmental disabilities, and I am deeply honored to now serve on the Richland County Board of DD. I look forward to contributing to the Board’s efforts in creating opportunities and fostering a supportive, inclusive community for all.”

A Leader in the Business and Nonprofit Sectors

Professionally, Jennifer serves as the Member Services Manager at the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development, where she oversees the Chamber’s membership program, benefits plans, and key partnerships. In this role, she supports local businesses and strengthens connections within the community.

Her commitment to service extends beyond her career. She is an active board member for both the Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center and the Madison Adult Career Center Advisory Board. Recognized for her contributions, she is a TWIN (Tribute to Women & Industry) honoree and was named Volunteer of the Year at Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center in 2015.

A Lifelong Connection to Richland County

A Mansfield native, Jennifer now lives in Ontario with her husband Blake and their three sons. Outside of work and community service, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes. She is also an avid pinball player and an active member of First Congregational Church.

Welcomed by Richland Newhope

Richland Newhope Superintendent Michele Giess welcomed Jennifer to the board, emphasizing the value of her experience and dedication:
