In Ohio, summer and cornhole go hand-in-hand.

The Mansfield Municipal Veterans Court, along with the Richland Veteran Mentor Program, are hosting the 2nd Annual Cornhole Tournament.

This event is in conjunction with multiple veterans courts within the state of Ohio. Participants will include court staff, veteran mentors, previous veteran court graduates, and veteran’s court participants and their families. Magistrate John McCollister will serve as Honorary Umpire.

The fun will take place on Sunday, August 18 from 1 PM to 4:30 PM in South Park.

The Veterans Court was formed and began operating in September 2009 and was the first of its kind in Ohio, and third in the nation. An integral part of the Veterans Treatment Court are the volunteer veteran mentors.  These volunteers engage, encourage and empower their fellow veterans to change their lives, ensuring that together we will “Leave no veteran behind.”

In addition to providing camaraderie and vet to vet support, our mentors assist with connecting their mentees to VA and community services to include but not limited to: housing, employment, and transportation.

For more information, please contact Brooke Taylor, Mentor Coordinator, for the MansfieldMunicipal Court at 419-755-9710.
